Comprehensive Restorative Dentistry Services Offered at WestSide Dental Studio

Dental Fillings for Cavities

When decay wears down a tooth, a dental filling can restore its shape and strength. At WestSide Dental Studio, we use tooth-colored composite resin for natural-looking results. These fillings bond securely with the tooth and help prevent future damage. Our Reno dentists prioritize comfort and precision to make the experience stress-free.

Anterior Root Canal Therapy

Front teeth with deep decay or trauma can often be saved with anterior root canal therapy. This procedure removes infected pulp from the tooth’s center, alleviates pain, and preserves the natural tooth. Dr. Dean and Dr. Jones perform this treatment with a gentle approach, ensuring minimal discomfort and long-term results.

Same-Day CEREC® Crowns

Why wait weeks for a dental crown? With CEREC technology, we can design, mill, and place custom ceramic crowns in a single appointment. These restorations are durable, natural-looking, and made to fit your bite precisely. Patients from Reno, Incline Village, and Truckee love the convenience of same-day results.

Dental Bridges to Replace Missing Teeth

A dental bridge is a reliable option to fill the gap left by one or more missing teeth. Anchored by crowns on adjacent teeth, a bridge restores your ability to chew, speak, and smile confidently. At our Reno dental office, we ensure your bridge blends seamlessly with your natural teeth and fits comfortably.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I need restorative dental work?

If you’re experiencing tooth pain, increased sensitivity to hot or cold, visible chips, cracks, or have missing teeth, these are all signs you may need restorative dental treatment. Left untreated, these issues can lead to infection, further tooth loss, and even impact your overall health. During your visit, Dr. Dean or Dr. Jones will perform a comprehensive exam and may use digital X-rays to diagnose the problem and develop a personalized care plan.

Are same-day crowns as durable as traditional crowns?

Absolutely. Our CEREC® crowns are milled from high-quality, medical-grade ceramic that is both durable and aesthetic. These restorations are designed to withstand everyday chewing forces and typically last 10–15 years with proper care. Plus, the digital scanning and in-office milling process ensures a custom, precise fit without the need for messy impressions or temporary crowns.

Is a root canal painful?

Thanks to modern dental technology and advanced numbing techniques, a root canal today is about as comfortable as getting a regular filling. Our team uses gentle care to ensure you’re relaxed and pain-free throughout the procedure. Many patients are pleasantly surprised by how easy the treatment is, especially when it relieves the severe discomfort caused by an infected or inflamed tooth pulp.

Will my insurance cover restorative dentistry?

Most dental insurance plans provide coverage for common restorative procedures such as fillings, crowns, and root canals, especially when they’re deemed medically necessary. Our friendly front desk staff at WestSide Dental Studio will help you navigate your insurance benefits, provide clear cost estimates, and even file claims on your behalf to make the process as stress-free as possible.

Expert Restorative Care

Anterior Root Canal Therapy

If you’re experiencing symptoms of a tooth infection, such as swelling, abscess, tooth pain, and sensitivity, you need to seek treatment right away to prevent the need for an extraction.

When you leave tooth decay untreated or sustain dental trauma, your tooth’s soft inside layer, known as the dental pulp, can become damaged and inflamed. The only cure for a tooth infection is to remove the infected pulp. During a root canal, we remove the infected pulp through a pulpectomy and then we clean all of the tooth’s canals.

The anterior (front) teeth contain fewer canals than the molars, which can contain up to 3, so this takes less time and can usually be completed in one appointment. The canals are also sanitized and shaped in preparation for the inside of the tooth to be filled.

CEREC Crowns

Have a damaged, decayed, or broken tooth? A dental crown will hold a broken tooth together, protect a weak tooth from further damage, and offer strength and durability to restore your ability to eat your favorite foods.

Whether you’ve chipped your tooth from teeth grinding, broken a tooth from playing sports, or have a large cavity, a crown can save a tooth that would otherwise break under the wear and tear of everyday life.

With CEREC technology, we’re able to create a custom-fit highly aesthetic tooth restoration in a single appointment. Lab crowns take weeks to fabricate and send back to the dental office, requiring multiple commutes and appointments, plus long wait times.

Our CAD/CAM technology enables us to take 3D high-definition images of your teeth, upload them to our software, and 3D print your new dental crown which is carved out of a ceramic block with our milling machine.

Dental Bridges

A dental bridge can restore your smile and tooth functionality by replacing a missing tooth or a few missing teeth. Where there’s a gap in your smile, we’ll place dental crowns on the abutment teeth that are on opposite sides of the gap.

A pontic tooth is attached in the middle and suspended in the gums to replace the missing tooth. A dental bridge is a fixed restoration so you don’t have to worry about removing it. Bridges last for 5 to 7 years before needing to be replaced.

Patients feel an instant boost of confidence knowing that no one is looking at their missing tooth anymore. Bridges make chewing and speaking much easier and restore missing support to your mouth.

When you lose a tooth, your bite will shift if you don’t replace it right away due to bone loss. This can lead to orthodontic problems that require braces to correct. A shift in your bite can also lead to TMJ/TMD (temporomandibular joint disorder). A dental bridge prevents all of these complications of tooth loss.

Partial Dentures

Partial dentures are a set of one or more false teeth that stay in place by clipping onto your remaining healthy teeth. They are a great option for restoring a few missing teeth on a budget.

Full Dentures

Full dentures replace a full set of upper, lower, or both rows of teeth. They are usually only recommended for people who have lost most or all of their teeth due to past oral health issues. This is because they require the extraction of all remaining teeth.
